PROCEDURE

The mini handbag is worked in the round, from bottom to top, including the handles. Replace the first stitch of each round with 1 chain stitch. Close each round with 1 slip stitch worked into the beginning chain.

Using a n° 4 EU / G-6 US crochet hook, chain 87 stitches and join in the round with 1 slip stitch. Work front post single crochet for 36 rounds.

Round 37: work the first 11 stitches in front post single crochet, then work slip stitches over the next 21 stitches for the first handle, continue front post single crochet over the next 23 stitches, work slip stitches over the following 21 stitches for the second handle, then finish with front post single crochet over the remaining 11 stitches
round 38: work the first 11 stitches in front post single crochet, chain 21 stitches corresponding to the slip stitches below, continue front post single crochet over 23 stitches, chain 21 stitches corresponding to the slip stitches below, then finish front post single crochet over the last 11 stitches.

Continue front post single crochet over all stitches for 2 more rounds, then cut and fasten off the yarn.

Assembling the bag and finishing touches

From felt, cut a bag slightly smaller than the crocheted one, about 1 row shorter than the front and back panels. Leave the handles free; sew the seams by hand. Attach the lining inside the crocheted bag all around the top edge and the sides, simultaneously closing the bottom on both layers.
