With this sizeable bag that can be used every day, you will shine like Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. You won’t go unnoticed, and all your friends will tell you they want one because it's: practical, made by combining two extraordinary yarns - Cozy and Kyoto - which render it unique, you can choose to make it with many other colours, and it's delicately sparkly. It will become your Mary Poppins bag in which you can keep your world close at hand when you are away from home.
It's also easy, quick to make and, thanks to the Cozy yarn that's nice and plump, it has a texture that's pleasant to the touch and attractive to the eye.

NOTE
The bag is made from a rectangle worked in rows. The handles are worked separately and then sewn to the bag.

Combine the Kyoto yarn with the Cozy and gently cast on 33 chain stitches.
Row 1: from the second chain of the hook work a single crochet in each chain stitch until the end [32 single crochets]
row 2: work 2 chains (they don’t count as a stitch from here on), turn the piece over and work a half double crochet in every single crochet of the previous row until the end of the row [32 single crochets]
row 3: chain 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch from here on), turn the work over, work a single crochet in each half double crochet of the previous row until the end of the row [32 half double crochets]
from row 3 to row 53: repeat rows 2 and 3.
Cut and fasten all strings inside the bag.
Looking at the right side of the piece, fold the strip in half, pin it and sew with the needle and thread along the sides. For a more precise and clean finish, match the lines along the sides of the bag.

The handles are worked in rows, without the chain to turn.
Cast on 3 chains.
Row 1: work a single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in the next chain, turn the piece over [2 single crochets]
row 2: work a single crochet in every single crochet of the previous row [2 single crochets]
from row 2 to row 22: repeat row 2.
Position the bag with the opening facing up, measure 10cm / 4" from the right side and sew on one side of the handle with a needle and thread. Measure 10cm / 4" from the left side and sew on the other side of the handle.
Turn the bag over to the opposite side and sew the second handle as done for the first.
Cut and fasten all strings inside the bag.
