Nuvola is a yarn with a soft and light character, built on a cotton base designed to achieve volume without weighing down the structure. Its identity is based on a precise balance between naturalness and technical performance: cotton provides comfort, breathability and a pleasant hand, while polyamide introduces elasticity, strength and stability over time. The processing of the yarn generates a soft and airy texture, with a full but not compact visual effect, reminiscent of a “puffy” and light material. This makes it particularly suitable for projects where a voluminous but comfortable result is desired, with good performance even on simple stitches or basic structures. Nuvola can be called a functional contemporary yarn: not decorative in the strict sense, but designed to offer comfort, volume and practicality of use in a single material.
Availability and Packaging Our Cloud is available in 50 g balls, which can be purchased individually or in packs of 10 per color. Each pack has a natural tolerance of ±3%.The different packages are designed both for those who need small quantities and for those who need large quantities and/or want to save.

Raw materials used in DHG's yarns are selected and purchased from areas of the world where each specific fiber expresses the best natural and performance qualities. Depending on the type, the fibers come from vocated and traditionally specialized regions, chosen to ensure high standards of purity, fineness and textile performance. Once selected, the fibers enter a transformation process that combines technical expertise and craftsmanship savoir-faire. In fact, yarns such as Nuvola are made through careful twisting, much of it performed with a still highly artisanal approach in the textile district of Prato, a historic international center for fiber processing. This balance between global sourcing and local processing allows the characteristics of each fiber to be maximized, resulting in yarns that combine quality, identity, and manufacturing tradition.
Cloud is worked with medium-thickness needles and crochet hooks.
With needles: shaved knit and other work, better smooth and openwork than raised. The yarn flows easily over the needles, eventually offering an even and regular result with straight edges. In working with needles, the 3 threads that make up the yarn tend less to separate than in crocheting, where care must be taken with each knit that the hook picks up the three threads together.
Withcrochet: the low knit is used to achieve a compact and even result like a woven fabric. It can be varied by using the half-high or high knit, but the work may be slowed down by the attention needed to make sure that all the threads are always taken together.
Tips for working and care.
Our colors generally have high light fastness and wash fastness. Exceptions are fluorescent colors, which have low light fastness and may release color in the presence of alkaline or harsh soaps and with prolonged washing. The same applies to dark, bright colors. In all these cases, it is essential to test a small sample before starting the project, especially if these materials are combined with raw or light-colored fibers. In any case, it is always a good idea to dry artifacts away from direct sunlight, preferably in semi-shade.
A practical tip: Buying balls or spools of different baths can cause what is known as the barred effect: subtle variations in shade that seem invisible when comparing balls and spools, but become apparent once worked. Therefore, always be sure to buy some yarn in excess of what is needed for your project. We will be sure to send you spools and balls of the same lot.
