You can never have enough blankets in winter! We snuggle up with them on the sofa or use them to have that extra warmth on the bed. They even join us on the balcony or in the garden for a quick get away from the four walls of our house. Basically, they’re like unique friends.
Today we’re going to learn how to make a thick-striped, coloured blanket. A classic made unique by using Piuma yarn, that is, a slightly twisted extra fine merino wool roving. The chunkiness and softness of the striped blanket go beyond blissfulness, try it for yourself!
Let’s get started.
METHOD
Cast on 101 stitches with the first colour with n° 9 EU / 13 US.
Row 1: knit 1 and purl 1 for all the row
row 2: purl 1 and knit 1 taken from underneath for all the row.
Repeat rows 1 and 2.
Switch colour every 80 rows.
