Today we are pleased to introduce you to Lisanna Averna, known on Instagram as dipuntoinfeltro. Lisanna is a small felt artisan who creates fun sensory cubes and felt garlands and a cuddly cotton jersey blankie.
One of Lisanna's aims is to be as compatible as possible with the needs of safeguarding environmental resources and therefore to commit to respecting sustainability. What action is taken to achieve this? She uses second hand clothes, prefers brands that offer ethical fashion, uses washable nappies for her baby, chooses ecological detergents and, for her projects, opts for quality and Oeko-Tex certified fabrics.
Lisanna has created a happy group of farmyard animals for us. A Rooster, hen and chick, a donkey, a horse, and a cow. All made with felt squares, starting from paper patterns designed and designed by her. The real magic, however, happens when the work, once sewn, is turned over: only like this can you properly see what has just been created!
If you're wondering, horse and donkey manes are made with our Piuma yarn.
Aren't they wonderful?
It all started last year when, partly by chance, she decided to get involved and learn to sew small felt characters during her baby's naps. The very first things she made were some decorations for the house and for the Christmas tree, and from there she never looked back. Thanks to her mother-in-law, she learned to use the sewing machine, without which she would never have been able to make everything that she has created so far.
In her life she has always had the need to express her imaginative side, and after becoming a mother she felt this urge more strongly than ever. She attended art school, however, at that time she didn't have any clear ideas about her future and would have never imagined getting to where is today!
She loves her family, her partner Timothy and their son Tayler, their biggest joy. In one way it is thanks to him that she went down this path, and it is thanks to him that she had the courage to do it.
Her favourite time of day is in the evening, just before dinner, when she gets together with her family after a long day at work and they dance, play and cook delicious food. Lisanna defines herself as a very simple person who just needs the company of a few good people and spend quality time, even better if it’s out in nature and in quiet places.
