Today we are going to learn how to knit the spider stitch. A delicate openwork stitch that, if you take a closer look, seems like a beautiful family of small spiders that are intent on enjoying a warm sunny day. They resemble the funny little spiders from a Gerald Durrell book!
For this stitch we have chosen our Fluffy yarn. Lightweight and super soft. Here we find it in the Coral colour, but on the store there are many other pastel colours to choose from.

MATERIALS
Fluffy yarn col. Coral 50 g / 1.8 oz
Needles n° 4 EU / 6 US
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY

METHOD
We work off a number of base stitches in multiples of 6 + 1.
The purled stockinette stitches on the sides of the pattern are not represented on the diagram and are not indicated in the explanation.
Rows 1, 3 and 5: purl all stitches
row 2 and all even rows: knit all stitches
row 7: * knit 1 quadruple stitch, purl 5 * always repeat from * to * and finish with 1 quadruple stitch.
To execute a quadruple stitch: knit 1 in the stitch corresponding to the first stitch of the left needle, but of the fourth row below, drop the stitch from the left needle and let it slip.
Row 9: purl all stitches
row 11: * purl 3, 1 quadruple stitch, purl 2 * finished with 1 purl
row 13: repeat from row 5.

Repeat from * to * for the whole row and finish with the stitch after the second *.
