Hi, today’s lesson is about openwork stitches, in other words, that wide selection of knit stitches that are characterised by gaps that make the outer surface look spongy and light as a feather. We’re going to learn how to do the openwork diamonds stitch to be precise.
We’ve chosen our mohair silk Fluffy yarn as its texture adds a lovely cloudy affect to the stitch! Here it is in the Honey colour but there are loads of colours to choose from on the shop.

METHOD
The stitch is done on a multiple of 8 + 9.
The stockinette stitches on the sides of the design aren’t shown on the pattern or stated in the explanation.

row 14: knit 2 together, *1 yarn over, knit 5*, yarn over 1 to finish off, knit 5, yarn over 1, pass 1
row 15: repeat from the 1st row.

Start with the stitches that come before the first asterisk, repeat from * to * for all the row and finish off with the stitches that come after the 2nd asterisk.
If you like out of the ordinary stitches then you might like the Drop Stitch Garter too!
