How to knit an openwork crop sweater

Today's pattern will allow you fashion an oversized crop sweater. Fresh and soft, with a distinctly original openwork zigzag motif formed on yarn over stitches and simple knit and purl stitches. The design is rendered all over the body and sleeves of the sweater creating an exquisite undulating effect.

It is a casual, modern garment, fit for diverse occasions. It is worked in the round from bottom to top in a single piece until the underarm, then continues flat on two separate parts, front and back, which will be sewn onto the shoulders. The sleeves are knitted later and worked in the round from the shoulder towards the cuff. It is a simple yet entertaining pattern to work with.

The yarn selected for this sweater is Hokusai in the colour: cyclamen. But on our store you will find many more beautiful colours to choose from.

The design is by the duo: Knitting For Breakfast.

Let's begin.

METHOD

Work in the round from bottom to top in one piece up to the underarm. Work the yoke in two separate parts, front and back. Work the cuff of the sleeves in the round starting from the shoulder, after sewing the shoulders.
