Selvedge of plant origin - 100 g

The selvedge serves to preserve the fabric from fraying at its extreme edges. Also, to ensure that, during the various phases of finishing, the piece of fabric holds its integrity and does not come apart. After fulfilling these tasks, the selvedge is then cut away. It is practically a part of the fabric processing that becomes waste, precious waste though.

The selvedges that you find on this shop have been collected from the wool mills of our textile district. The compositions can differ between: cotton, linen, viscose and polyester. They are perfect for hand weaving but also for knitting and crocheting. Also suitable for tailoring works. In short, they lend themselves to many uses.

With the new focus on environmental sustainability and the advent of upcycling, it seemed sensible to us to offer this type of product which, among other things, perfectly expresses the DNA of our textile district.
