Today we are sharing with you a <\/span>free pattern for a cardigan that has the distinctiveness of being colourful and decorated with intertwining motifs. The style is somewhat retro, and the extra touch is that It’s made using our iconic super warm Piuma pure merino wool yarn.<\/span><\/p>

You can use the cardigan as is i.e., keeping it open, or you can choose to embellish it with buttons taking into account that you must add buttonholes. You can also close it with a belt, perhaps in leather.<\/span><\/p>

Continue knitting with needles n\u00b0 10 EU \/ 15 US.<\/span><\/p>

Using the Earth coloured yarn<\/span>:<\/span>
rows 8, 10 <\/b><\/span>and <\/b>12<\/b>: knit entire row<\/span>

How to knit the front of the cardigan with geometric motifs<\/h3>

Knit the two front pieces separately mirroring each other.<\/span>
<\/p>

Using the Honey coloured yarn<\/span> cast on 32 stitches with needles n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US and rib stitch 1 x 1 for 7 rows.<\/span><\/p>

Continue knitting with needles n\u00b0 10 EU \/ 15 US.<\/span><\/p>

Continue by knitting 5 garter stitches (these will be the edge of the cardigan) Using the Honey coloured yarn and 27 stitches following the same line on the back.<\/span>
<\/p>

At row 42 you begin the neckline.<\/span>
<\/p>

Rows <\/b>42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72, 78<\/b>: after the edge in garter stitch, drop a stitch.<\/span><\/p>

From row 84 <\/span>only<\/span> knit<\/span> the edge in garter stitch for another 16 rows and bind off the other stitches.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the sleeves of the cardigan with geometric motifs<\/h3>

Using the Honey coloured yarn<\/span> cast on 28 stitches <\/span>with needles n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US and rib stitch 1 x 1 for 7 rows.<\/span><\/p>

Continue knitting with needles n\u00b0 10 EU \/ 15 US.<\/span>
<\/p>

Work the lining like the back but increase one stitch on each side every 4 rows (rows 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52) up to row 55 and then bind off.<\/span><\/p>

Sew the shoulders, to do this first start with the sewing of the two edges together in garter stitch and then move on to the neckline behind. Sew the sleeves to the round from marker to marker and finish sewing the stitch.<\/span><\/p>
