For this Christmas we asked Manusa to create some projects for us, for those who fancy making unique and handmade gifts.
There are 4 projects in total. A pair of arm warmers, a hooded scarf and 2 projects to make the perfect stocking fillers using left over yarn. Cheap and quick to make: kitchen pot holders and cup cosies.
All made exclusively with our new mixed alpaca wool yarns.
Fancy giving the arm warmers a go? Excellent choice. They are super hot and light (so much so that only 60g of yarn has been used to make them!) and will be invaluable on the cold winter days that are now on their way. Below you can find all the necessary instructions. Enjoy!
MATERIALS
Sparkle yarn col. Art Dec̣ 100 g / 3.5 oz
Circular needles n° 6 EU / 10 US and n° 9 EU / 13 US
1 stitch marker
KNIT-CROCHET STITCHES USED

Purl stitch
Garter stitch:
with the circular needles work a knit row and a purl one.
Spike stitch:
round 1: * 1 knit, 1 yarn over*. Repeat from * to *
round 2: *knit 1, drop the yarn over from the last round*. Repeat from * to *
Increase:
This is made by working the same loop twice (Y).
METHOD
Cast on 24 stitches with the double pointed needles. Working with double needles is useful to have more elasticity at the beginning of the knitting.
Join in a circle, taking care not to twist the stitches.
At the beginning of the round, place a stitch marker.

Aren’t they just adorable? Who says that a comfortable and useful garment can’t be warm too? Someone who obviously has never worn something made from alpaca and lamé. The softness of the alpaca and the glamour of the lamé are perfect for any occasion.
Enjoy your arm warmers!
