Shelley Jones was born in Detroit, Michigan, and is the sixth felt artist to take part in our DHG Charity Project. She has been working with felt, beads and precious metals since 1997. She has been shaping these materials with her own unique creative style. Andrea Graham, Lisa Klakulak and Anita Larkin are just a few of the renowned felt artists whom Shelley met during her professional career.
Shelley Jones makes jewelry and decorative objects which strike for their clean, soft beauty. A timeless beauty. The colors she chooses are often vibrant and full of life. Her works, while complex and unusually shaped, show an exceptional amount of precision. They are so smooth they look like sculptures.

For us, Shelley has created two necklaces and two bracelets. In order to create this small collection, she used both the wet felting and the needle felting techniques. The fiber she chose is our extra fine Merino wool.
Terracotta Pinecone, Periwinkle Pinecone, Sprockets #1 and Sprockets #2 are the titles she chose for these wonderful pieces of jewellery. They are all inspired by the beautiful gardens of Virginia. Enjoy the gallery.
Shelley’s works are also part of DHG’s initiative for the Meyer Children’s Hospital. They will be put on sale for charity and the proceeds will be donated to the Oncology Department of the Meyer Pediatric Hospital of Florence. You can find this artist’s work on sale on dhgshop.
