Row 1: 1 selvedge stitch, 5 knit stitches, 6 purl stitches, repeat (6 knit stitches, 6 purl stitches) twice, 5 knit stitches, 1 selvedge stitch
row 2: 1 selvedge stitch, 5 purl stitches, repeat (6 knit stitches, 6 purl stitches) twice, 6 knit stitches, 5 purl stitches, 1 selvedge stitch.
Rows 1 and 2 establish the 6/6 ribbing with a selvedge stitch at the beginning and end; repeat them 20 more times, reaching row 42. In row 43, while continuing in 6/6 ribbing, make 1 increase on each side (after the first selvedge stitch and before the last selvedge stitch), and repeat this every 6 rows five more times: work the increases following the established stitch pattern. At the same time, in row 55, start placing a cable pattern on each side (on the 12 stitches following the increased stitches at the beginning of the row and on the 12 stitches preceding the increased stitches at the end of the row). Then, after 10 rows, set up seed stitch on the lateral stitches (those before the first side cable pattern and those after the second side cable pattern) and a new cable pattern on the 12 central stitches: work in stockinette stitch for the stitches remaining between the cable patterns; in the three cable pattern sections, remember to cross the stitches every 8 stockinette rows (when, due to decreases, there are no longer 12 stitches available for the cross, work these stitches in stockinette). From row 81, start decreasing on both sides for sleeve shaping, binding off at the beginning and end of the row, every 2 rows, 2 stitches 9 times and 1 stitch 6 times: reach row 110 (58 cm / 23") with 6 stitches remaining on the needle. Bind off.
For size L, using knitting needles n° 6 EU / 10 US, cast on 46 stitches.
Row 1: 1 selvedge stitch, 1 purl stitch, repeat (6 knit stitches, 6 purl stitches) three times, 6 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, 1 selvedge stitch
row 2: 1 selvedge stitch, 1 knit stitch, repeat (6 purl stitches, 6 knit stitches) three times, 6 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 1 selvedge stitch.

In row 47, while continuing in 6/6 ribbing, make 1 increase on each side (after the first selvedge stitch and before the last selvedge stitch), and repeat this every 6 rows five more times: work the increases following the established stitch pattern. At the same time, in row 59, start placing a cable pattern on each side (on the 12 stitches following the increased stitches at the beginning of the row and on the 12 stitches preceding the increased stitches at the end of the row). From row 85, start decreasing on both sides for sleeve shaping, binding off at the beginning and end of the row, every 2 rows, 2 stitches 7 times and 1 stitch 10 times: reach row 118 (62 cm / 24.4") with 10 stitches remaining on the needle. Bind off.
Sew all seams using mattress stitch for an invisible finish. Sew the shoulders. For the collar, using knitting needles n° 6 EU / 10 US on the wrong side of the work, starting and ending at the center back neckline, pick up stitches around the neckline: the final number of stitches should be a multiple of 12 + 2.
Row 1: 1 selvedge stitch, repeat (6 knit stitches, 6 purl stitches) until the last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch.
Row 1 establishes the 6/6 ribbing with a selvedge stitch at the beginning and end; repeat it 29 more times, reaching row 30 (approximately 18 cm / 7"). Bind off. Sew the collar, keeping in mind that it will be folded. Attach the sleeves, shaping the sleeve cap to fit the armholes. Close the underarm and side seams.
