Every year we gladly take part in this special day, where the fans of handmade sweaters especially, share their knowledge and tastes about them. Therefore, also for this edition, we’ve chosen to create an awesome knitted sweater, namely the bonbon sweater. There are lots of sweaters like this, super chunky and with a pattern that reminds us of loads of giant soap bubbles out there, but our bonbon sweater has that something extra that the others can’t have: Piuma yarn.
As a matter of fact, as our quirky yarn is a roving of a slightly twisted merino wool, it gives the bonbon sweater a soft irreplicable texture. There’s no other like Piuma. On our shop you can find loads of colours of Piuma, printed too. So you can choose a different colour combo to the one we chose.
Now let’s get started, even because making the bonbon sweater is rather easy!

Work the back of the Bonbon sweater with n° 10 EU / 15 US needles and cast on 48 stitches.
Work the tuck stitch alternating colours as described in the Chart, taking care to change them when the row is worked with a tuck.

2 rows with col. Twilight

1 row with col. Twilight.
Place a stitch marker at the start of the round.

To do the front of the Bonbon sweater with the tuck stitch, repeat all the steps that you’ve just done for the back.

With needles n° 10 EU / 15 US and the color Tulle. cast on 24 stitches and rib stitch 1/1 for 7 rows.
In the first knitted row after the rib, increase a stitch every other stitch (e.g. knit 1, knit 2 together for all the row) like this you’ll have 36 stitches.

Sew 14 stitches for the shoulders.
With the circular needles n° 10 EU / 15 US rib stitch 1/1 the 20 central stitches of the front and the back for 8 rounds.
Bind off.
Now all you have to do is sew the sleeves onto the round and then the rest of the sweater.
