These coasters are inspired by the leaves of Ginkgo biloba, one of the oldest trees on our planet. The yarn selected for this super cute project is Marni, created by combining our iconic Piuma yarn and skilful twisting work. It is a yarn with all the quality of our extra fine merino wool and the guarantee our certifications give.
With a ball of Marni, you can make 4 coasters which are an excellent gift idea and one a project you can do in one evening!

Do not cut the thread, rotate the work anti-clockwise and continue working along the lower edge of the leaf.
Inserting the hook into the arc formed by the stitches at the beginning/end of the previous rows, work 5 slip stitches until you reach the magic ring, 6 chains, 1 single crochet from the second chain stitch from the hook in the following 5 chains, 1 stitch slip stitch at the base of the chains, continue working along the lower edge of the leaf, 5 slip stitches until you reach the first row, bind off with 1 slip stitch.
Cut and fasten all threads on the wrong side.
To best show the workmanship and have flat leaves, we must shape them with steam: place the coasters one at a time on a mat (or on the ironing board), pin them to give them the desired shape, turn on the iron at minimum temperature and maximum steam, pass the iron over the work at a distance of approximately 2 cm / 0.8", without touching it and steam them.
Allow to dry for a couple of hours before removing the pins.
