METHOD
We work off a number of base stitches in multiples of 12 + 1.
Row 1: chain 4 (initial double crochet + 1 bow), skip 6 chains from hook, *1 double crochet in next chain, skip 1 chain, 1 pattern in next chain stitch (1 stitch, 1 chain and a spindle around the stitch just worked), skip 1 chain, [1 double crochet in the next chain, chain 1, skip 1 chain], repeat the part in square brackets 3 more times*, always repeat from * to * until the last 12 chains, finish 1 double crochet in the next chain, skip 1 chain, 1 motif in the next chain, skip 1 chain [1 dc in next chain, 1 chain, skip 1 chain] 3 times, 1 dc in last chain.
To crochet a spindle: (1 yarn over, insert the hook around the double crochet, 1 yarn over and pull the thread out, lengthen the loop on the hook about 0.5cm / 0.2"), repeat the part in round brackets twice more, 1 yarn over and close all the loops on the hook at once, 1 chain stitch to close the spindle.
Row 2: chain 4 [1 double crochet on next double crochet, chain 1, skip the bow], repeat twice, 1 double crochet on next stitch, +1 chain, 1 double crochet in next motif bow, chain 1, skip the double crochet of the motif, 1 double crochet on the next double crochet+, *[chain 1, skip the bow, 1 double crochet on the next double crochet], repeat 4 times, work from + to +*, finish with 1 chain stitch, skip the bow, 1 dc on the starting point of the previous round
row 3: chain 4, skip the bow, *+[1 double crochet on next double crochet, chain 1, skip the bow] repeat 3 times, 1 double crochet on next double crochet, skip the bow, 1 motif on the next double crochet , skip the bow+, 1 double crochet on the next double crochet, 1 chain*, finish working from + to +, 1 double crochet on the starting point of the previous round
row 4: chain 4, +1 double crochet the bow of the motif, chain 1, skip double crochet of the motif, 1 double crochet into next double crochet, [chain 1, skip the bow, 1 double crochet into next double crochet], repeat 3 times+, *1 chain, skip the bow, 1 double crochet on the next double crochet, 1 chain, then work from + to + *, finish with 1 chain, skip the bow, 1 double crochet on the starting point of the round previous
row 5: chain 4, skip the bow, *+1 double crochet on next double crochet, skip the bow, 1 motif on next double crochet, skip loop+, [1 double crochet on next double crochet, chain 1, skip the bow], repeat 4 times*, finish working from + to +, [1 double crochet on the next double crochet, chain 1, skip the bow], repeat 1 double crochet on the initial stitch of the previous round 3 times.
row 6: repeat from row 2.
Start with the part before the first *, repeat from * to * throughout the row and finish with the part after the second *.
